Cooking Retreat Travel Program
Offered by Diane Carlson & "The Conscious Gourmet"

Join like-minded people from around the world and experience The Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health’s popular Core Program (Basics 1-4), as well as additional specialized cooking vacations in unique vacation destinations. The 11-session Core Program, previously taught only in New York City, is now being offered in a retreat setting by Diane Carlson and The Conscious Gourmet. This intensive format will enable you to totally immerse yourself in the entire program and will provide you with a foundation in health-supportive cooking and theory. Individuals attending all sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health.

The Core Program’s 6-day 5-night retreat begins on Sunday evening with an orientation and welcome dinner, and completes by mid-day Friday afternoon. Our days begin with yoga, movement class or hike, a natural foods breakfast, and a hands-on cooking class under the guidance of one of our finest Chef Instructors. Classes include a complete gourmet lunch from soup to dessert as well as lecture-workshops that explore cutting edge principles of health- supportive cooking and theory. All cooking classes use whole, fresh, natural, organic, seasonal foods including grains, beans, vegetables, high quality oils and natural sweeteners. One session also includes fish. Afternoons are free to relax and explore your retreat destinations' unique offerings with the group or on your own.

The Conscious Gourmet also offers additional retreats in varying lengths for all levels of experience and may include advanced culinary techniques, travel excursions, cooking classes with local chefs and much more! Diane Carlson, cooking retreat founder, program director, and chef instructor, was the Co-President and Director of the Natural Gourmet Cookery School/Institute for Food and Health in New York City for 10 years. She previously owned Five Seasons Whole Foods Cookery and Education Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, offering cooking and theory classes, private cooking and catering, and a year-long Teachers Training Program in natural foods cooking. Under her new company, The Conscious Gourmet, she creates and leads culinary adventures for the body, mind and soul, as well as teaching and lecturing in her Greenwich, CT home and surrounding areas.
